Soul Train x Slexie [original project page]
This pairing is the first for Soul Train, and while we don’t know what is offspring will look like we have a good indication that his genetics will be a dominant influence. Slexie is a Merauke type and was a yellow baby. This clutch was 100% red babies – woohoo!
All babies are strong feeders and in perfect condition unless otherwise noted.
Mitey Mel x MelloYello 2013 [original project page]
This is a high yellow pairing which should produce some fantastic results. Mitey Mel is 50% Lemontree, and has always produced offspring that show hints of HY genetics as adults. MelloYello is a HY female produced from a Jaya x Biak pairing. Since MM was presumed a red baby and MY was a yellow baby I expected a mixed clutch. However only one of the hatchlings was yellow, the rest were red.
Dash-O-Pepper x Merlot 2013 [original project page]
This pairing could prove to have some stunners. Dash is from Greg Maxwell’s famed My Hobbit x Pepper repeat pairing in 2006. Merlot is from my landmark 2007 pairing of Mitey Mel and Lil Stevie which produced some extremely high black animals. Merlot is the “odd duck” of her siblings with her pastel coloration.
Blue Deuce x Lil Stevie 2011
These offspring are 75% blue line genetics. Blue Deuce is from a long line of Trooper Walsh animals concentrating on blue genetics. Lil Stevie was sired by Mr. Blue’s brother, another TW blue line male.
This was a project done with Sean and Christian Stewart and their male Blue Deuce. The pairing produced 12 fertile eggs, and all 12 hatched. We split the clutch 6 each, and one of mine ended up not surviving past the second month. It was a slow starter and probably had other health issues. The other 5 were very healthy and great feeders.
